Munich Announces Florian Huber as Winner of Official Oktoberfest 2026 Logo Contest

Munich has announced the winner of the Oktoberfest 2026 logo competition. Florian Huber, a freelance graphic designer from Kranzberg, took first place. The jury described the winning design as "almost magical" for its Iconic festival elements.

The official Oktoberfest 2026 logo features a vibrant geometric design that showcases Munich and festival symbols, including the Ferris wheel, beer stein, and the Frauenkirche towers. Its colorful, modern composition captures the energy, tradition, and festive atmosphere that define Munich’s world-famous Oktoberfest celebration.

Dr. Christian Scharpf, Head of Labor and Economic Affairs for the city of Munich, presented the winning design at a press conference at City Hall on 6 February. First place won a prize of €2,500 plus a €5,000 licensing fee for the transfer of usage rights.

The jury described Huber's design as reminiscent of Lyonel Feininger's style, the German-American Cubist and Expressionist painter. The motif is said to capture the spirit of the festival through dynamic movement, vibrant color, and recognizable Oktoberfest symbols.

Dr. Scharpf said of the winning design: "It skillfully combines tradition and modernity, attracts attention with its bright colors, and evokes genuine emotions when viewing the art poster."

The Oktoberfest motif is chosen through a competition organized by the Munich Department of Labor and Economic Development. For the 2026 edition, a total of 129 designs were submitted. Following a public vote, the top 30 designs advanced to the jury for final selection. Second place was awarded to Karl-Roland Hefter with a cash prize of €1,250, and third place to Philipp Dauer with €500.

The winning design will be used to promote Oktoberfest 2026 worldwide across online platforms, social media, and licensed merchandise. It will also appear on the official Oktoberfest poster and on the official Oktoberfest websites.
