The official song for the 191st Oktoberfest is selected through the City of Munich's "A Liad für d'Wiesn" music competition. The winning track will be performed live at the summer brass music festival in Eching, Germany, in August before making its official debut at the Wiesn.
Public voting phase for the official "A Liad für d'Wiesn" music competition closed on June 28, 2026, after drawing thousands of digital ballots from fans across the entire Alpine region.
This Oktoberfest music competition is a collaborative effort of the Department of Labor and Economic Development, the Munich Breweries Association, and the Munich Oktoberfest Innkeepers, in partnership with radio station Antenne Bayern.
The winning track will be revealed live on the main stage at the Brass Wiesn Festival in Eching on August 1, 2026, to dominate the playlists of major beer tents this autumn.
Seven exceptional regional acts, including Alexander Pernsteiner, BergBeats, Briada, Approximately 5, DeSchoWieda, FRIDA, and Troglauer, are competing for the title of the official Oktoberfest song 2026. To qualify for the public voting round, an expert panel of Oktoberfest and music-industry specialists will evaluate a large pool of original submissions.
Each selected Oktoberfest song was required to be professionally recorded, performable live, and deeply rooted in Bavarian culture through traditional instrumentation or local dialect.
Beyond crowning a musical champion, the Association of Munich Breweries is rewarding 20 lucky voters with exclusive prize packages that include festival admission, beer and food vouchers. The winners are scheduled to receive their official email confirmations in early July.
With a massive promotional launch, all eyes now turn to the grand reveal of Oktoberfest 2026's official anthem to see which track will become Bavaria's next definitive party anthem.
